Something that I love about Saratoga is that beneath the modern facade, history is ever-present. Every so often, there are reenactment encampments in the park chronicling the history that the area has been a part of. During the summer we had encampments representing the French and Indian War up to the War of 1812, and today (and tomorrow) the Civil War. I had the opportunity to visit and snap a ton of great photo reference and talk to some of the reenactors! Needless to say as a history dork and an artist, this made my day!
I plan on visiting again tomorrow and gathering more information to share!
